How do I get started with Agentic OS and Clementine?

Overview

Agentic OS, formerly mentorAI, is Syracuse University's platform for building your own AI assistants, called agents. Students, faculty and staff sign in at mentor.ai.syr.edu with their NetID. Clementine is separate: built with Agentic OS, it's where anyone at Syracuse uses the University's assistants, such as Class Search, at clementine.syr.edu.

Build your own agent in Agentic OS

Faculty, staff and students can all build an agent (an AI assistant that answers from material you give it).

  1. Go to mentor.ai.syr.edu (opens in a new tab) and sign in with your SU NetID.

  2. Follow the building an agent guide.

What people tend to build:

  • Faculty: an agent for your course that answers common student questions, using only content you approve. You can review what students asked, export the chat history, and use a tool like Claude to find common questions or students who may need more help with a topic.
  • Students: a study agent for your courses and textbooks. Its answers cite your course materials.

Use a Clementine assistant

  1. Go to clementine.syr.edu (opens in a new tab) and choose an assistant, such as Class Search.

  2. Sign in with your SU NetID if it asks.

  3. Start chatting. For class searches, follow the Class Search guide.

Troubleshooting

  • You see a "502 Bad Gateway" error. Sign in from a private (incognito) window, or clear your browser's cache and cookies (saved browsing data), then try again.

Additional information

  • The person, or team, who built an assistant can read any chat you had with the assistant.
