• Using AI Tools Chat, Cowork, or Code: which should I use? Your Syracuse account includes Chat, Cowork and Code at no cost. Most people start with Chat, then use Cowork for multi-step work across files and Code for software projects.
• Usage & Limits How do I check my Claude usage, and what if I hit my limit? See your usage at claude.ai/settings/usage. Chat, Cowork and Code share the same limits, which reset on a schedule; faculty and staff can get more with a department-funded Premium seat.
• Getting Access How do I start using Claude Code? Your Syracuse Claude account includes Claude Code at no cost. Request it at getclaude.syr.edu/Products, then use it in the Claude desktop app, or follow the steps to set it up in a terminal on Windows.
• Getting Access How do I get Claude API access? Buy API credits in the Claude Console while signed in with your Syracuse email address. You don't need API access for Chat, Cowork or Claude Code.
• Using AI Tools How do I connect Claude to Microsoft 365 and my SharePoint files? Connect Microsoft 365 in Claude's settings so Claude can use your email, Teams and documents. To let Claude edit SharePoint files, use the Filesystem connector in the desktop app.

• Getting Access What happens to my Claude account when I graduate or leave? Students keep Claude for 90 days from the end of their last term. Staff, and faculty who resign, lose access when they leave. Retired faculty who had Claude keep it. There's no built-in export, so save your work or email your chats to yourself before your access ends.

• Getting Access How do I get API access to Agentic OS? Agentic OS, formerly mentorAI, has an API for working with agents and their datasets in your own code. Email aihelp@syr.edu from your Syracuse account to request access.
• Getting Started How do I search for classes with Clementine? Open the Class Search assistant at clementine.syr.edu and ask for classes in plain language. Then check seats and register in MySlice.
• Getting Started How do I use Google Gemini at SU? Your Syracuse account includes Google Gemini. Sign in at gemini.google.com/app with your SU Google account (netid@g.syr.edu), not a personal Gmail account.
• Getting Started How do I use Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM)? Gemini Notebook, formerly NotebookLM, answers questions using only the sources in your notebook, such as PDFs, Google Docs and YouTube links. Create a notebook, add your sources and start asking.
• Getting Started How do I use Microsoft Copilot at SU? Copilot Chat comes with your SU account at m365.cloud.microsoft/chat. Copilot inside Teams, Word and Outlook is a paid license you request in MyAccess.
• Policy & Privacy What happens to my data in SU AI tools? Signed in with your NetID, your chats aren't sold or used to train AI models. Authorized IT staff can see stored chats, and the people who build a Clementine assistant can read chats with it. Claude keeps all chats for two years.
